Frequently Asked Questions
What is TicketExchange and how does it work?
TicketExchange is Ticketmaster's new online service that enables premium and fan-to-fan transactions. Buyers simply select the ticket(s) they want based on price and seat location, without having to bid against other buyers, without having to coordinate delivery from anonymous sellers, and without the gamble that the tickets are legitimate. Sellers are guaranteed payment for tickets sold, without having to collect payment or deliver the tickets to the buyer.
Why should I use TicketExchange?
Only Ticketmaster can guarantee 100% legitimate tickets, because the tickets sold through TicketExchange are linked to Ticketmaster's ticketing systems. If you buy tickets that are sold through a source other than Ticketmaster, you have no way of knowing whether they are counterfeit or have been invalidated. However with Ticketmaster, once you buy a ticket, we cancel the original barcode and assign you a new one, so you have the security of knowing for certain the ticket being delivered to you is valid. Don't be fooled by other website guarantees: there is a lot of fine print and exceptions in those guarantees.
What are Platinum Tickets?
Platinum Tickets are premium tickets for some of the best seats in the house at concerts and other events. Some artists and event providers are now making a select number of Platinum Tickets available for sale directly to fans through Ticketmaster TicketExchange.
Aren't you just diverting tickets to resale?
No. The Platinum Tickets on TicketExchange were not purchased initially and then posted for resale; they are being sold for the first time on Ticketmaster's TicketExchange platform. Using this platform enables market-based pricing (adjusting prices according to supply and demand) for live event tickets, similar to how airline tickets and hotel rooms are sold. The goal is to give the most passionate fans fair and safe access to the best tickets, while enabling artists and other people involved in staging live events to price tickets closer to their true value and participate more fairly in the economic value of the experience they're providing to fans.
Why can't I sell or buy tickets for certain events?
Currently, not all event tickets are able to be bought or sold via TicketExchange. Be sure to check back often as new events are continually being added.
How does the seller get paid?
Consumers who sell their tickets via TicketExchange receive payment from Ticketmaster. Since Ticketmaster facilitates the transaction, we collect payment from the buyer and remit payment to the seller, ensuring a hassle-free seller experience. It's that easy.
How are my tickets delivered?
Depending on the event, Ticketmaster offers TicketFast® or standard UPS ticket delivery options. In some cases, will call may be offered or required. Learn more about
TicketFast®.
What fees are associated with selling tickets?
If your ticket(s) sell, you will receive as your proceeds an amount that equals the posting price you designate minus a seller fee which we will deduct. That seller fee will be displayed to you during the ticket posting process.
What fees are associated with buying tickets?
The buyer will pay fees that may be reflected during the purchase process or that may be included and deducted from the amount you see displayed as the resale price of the ticket.
What is the Current Price per ticket?
The "Current Price" includes the Original Price plus any amounts that have been added by the Seller or any Sellers who may have held the ticket before him/her. Other amounts or fees may also be included in the Current Price, or may be added on top of the Current Price. If additional amounts are added on top of the Current Price, they will be displayed on the web site before you complete your purchase.
