Shoot Against Hunger
To benefit the Boy Scouts of America’s Scouting for Food Campaign

At the Blues – Blackhawks game on Saturday, November 3, 2007, Blues fans generously donated 1,320 pounds of food and more than $2,000 in cash donations to benefit the St. Louis Area Foodbank. The donated food will provide 1,052 meals to families in the greater St. Louis area.

More than 450 fans who donated took the opportunity to go down on the ice and take a shot on goal after the game.

Special thanks to the Boy Scouts of America volunteers who collected food and thank you to all fans that participated!

Scouting for Food is the nation's largest one-day food drive, raising 15 percent of area food pantries' yearly supply and feeding the hungry in the community for three months.  The campaign will launch on Saturday, November 10 when Boy Scouts will distribute plastic bags to residences in St. Louis, Cape Girardeau and southern Illinois.  The scouts will return to residences on the following week to retrieve the bags filled with donated non-perishable items.  For more information, visit this website.
