During the Saturday, October 18th game against Chicago, the Blues hosted Hinote's Heroes Night to raise money and bring awareness to pediatric cancer.
Nearly $8,000 was raised through a silent auction and merchandise sales, including limited edition Hinote's Heroes sticks.
Hinote's Heroes also hosted 50 children and families from St. Louis Children's Hospital Pediatric Cancer Center at the game. The families attended a pre-game party where they received a Hinote's Heroes t-shirt, Blues goodies and a pair of Crocs. They were also recognized on the jumbotron in-game. After the game the families had the chance to meet Dan Hinote along with several of his teammates, including Manny Legace, Barret Jackman, T.J. Oshie, Andy McDonald, Lee Stempniak, Jay McClement!
Hinote's Heroes, founded in 2004 by Blues player Dan Hinote, is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for children battling cancer. For the past year, Dan and Amy Hinote have been working with St. Louis Children's Hospital's Pediatric Cancer Center. All of the money raised from this special evening will be used to purchase needed items for the cancer center
