Blues Book Drop
To benefit KidSmart

Fans were invited to bring a new or gently used children's book to the game on March 4th for the chance to win a 2007-08 team autographed jersey. All books were donated to KidSmart, a non-profit organization that helps St. Louis area children succeed in school by providing free school supplies to more than 80,000 kids in need. Thank you to all the fans that braved the weather with their book for KidSmart!

Blues captain Eric Brewer spends time being involved with KidSmart. Listen to Brewer talk about his involvement with the program. LISTEN

The Blues also hosted a book signing with Mary Shaw, wife of Blues Assistant Coach Brad Shaw and author of Brady Brady, a best-selling hockey book series for early readers. Mary Shaw signed autographs in front of BlueNote Authentics during the intermissions. Brady Brady books are available for sale in BlueNote Authentics.

Blues Book Drop Night is a part of the Blues new reading program, Blues Bookworms. Students that participated in the program and reached their goal of 1,000 minutes received a free ticket to the March 4th game. Ten All-Star readers were also recognized in-game, and had the chance to meet Blues player and reading program spokesperson Lee Stempniak after the game. Approximately 4,000 students participated in the program, reading more than 900,000 minutes total from October - January.
