BLUES (31-14-7) at DEVILS (31-19-3)

TV: FS-MW (HD), MSG PLUS

Last 10: St. Louis 6-2-2; New Jersey 7-2-1

Season Series: This is the only meeting between these clubs in 2011-12. They last met on Nov. 20, 2010, when Brad Winchester snapped a 2-2 tie 5:15 into the third period to give the Blues a 3-2 victory in St. Louis. Jaroslav Halak made 33 saves in the triumph.

Big Story: Former New Jersey forwards Jamie Langenbrunner and Jason Arnott make their returns to Prudential Center in Newark as members of the Blues, who wrap up a three-game road trip. Arnott, who is recovering from a shoulder injury, has missed two games and is questionable to rejoin the club in Newark. Langenbrunner, who served as Devils captain for three-plus seasons before being traded to the Dallas Stars on Jan. 7, 2011, signed a one-year contract with the Blues last July. He has 4 goals, 18 points and a plus-9 rating in 50 games while Arnott has 12 goals, 24 points and a plus-11 rating in 49 games.

Team Scope:

Blues: Brian Elliott made 28 saves and David Perron scored a pair of goals as the Blues continued their winning ways with a 3-1 victory over the Senators on Tuesday, marking their first triumph in Ottawa since Jan. 26, 2000. The victory was extra sweet for Elliott, who was drafted by the Senators in the ninth round (No. 291) of the 2003 Entry Draft. He went 59-45-15 over parts of four seasons with the team before being traded to Colorado. Elliott signed with the Blues and currently sits first in the League with a 1.69 goals-against average.

Devils: New Jersey is riding a season-high five game winning streak after knocking off its cross-state rival the New York Rangers, 1-0, on Tuesday at Madison Square Garden. It marked the 11th time in the last 15 meetings between the clubs that the game was decided by two goals or less. Martin Brodeur notched his first shutout of the season and the 117th of his career on 30 saves, including 15 in the third period when the Devils could only muster one shot on net. David Clarkson scored his 21st goal of the season, a career high, off a feed from Zach Parise to extend his point-scoring streak to five games. Clarkson has 5 goals and 8 points over that stretch.

Who's hot: Blues defenseman Alex Pietrangelo has recorded points in 10 of his last 14 games, including 3 goals and 14 points. For the season, the No. 4 pick in 2008 has 8 goals, 25 points and a plus-16 rating.

Injury report: The Blues will be without Andy McDonald (concussion), Kent Huskins (ankle), and Alex Steen (concussion-like symptoms). Arnott is questionable. … For the Devils, Adam Larsson (bruised lower back) has missed the last three games. Henrik Tallinder (leg), Travis Zajac (Achilles) and Ryan Carter (hand) are out.

Stat pack: Halak has gone 12-2-3 in his last 17 starts, including a 1.56 GAA and .940 save percentage. … While Parise saw his four-game goal scoring streak come to an end on Tuesday against the Rangers, he did extend his point-scoring streak to six games (5 goals and 8 points).

Puck drop: The Blues are 10-0-2 against the Eastern Conference this season and are the only team to get at least one point in every game against the opposite conference. … The Devils recorded their 31st win of the season on Tuesday against the Rangers. The Devils didn't earn their 30th win last year until March 6 and finished with 34 total victories.
