Prospects Tournament: Blues 4, Lightning 2, FINAL

Brett Sonne scored twice on Saturday to help the Blues prospects a 4-2 win in the opening game of the Traverse City Prospects Tournament.

Sonne, who was drafted by the Blues in the third round (85th overall) in 2007, was a key offensive player in the team's victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning prospects.

Anthony Nigro and Tyler Shattock added the other goals for the Blues. The Lightning got two goals from Brett Connolly.

Defenseman David Shields, a 6th round pick of the Blues in 2009, had two assists.

Goalie Jake Allen  stopped 24 Tampa Bay shots in Saturday’s win. In the second period, he made three big saves on a lengthy 5-on-3 penalty kill to help the Blues maintain a 2-1 lead.

The Blues prospects will meet the Dallas Stars on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
