Prospects Tournament: Wild 3, Blues 4, SO

By Chris Pinkert | St. Louis Blues Online
The Blues never trailed, but they came close to losing Wednesday's game.

With a 3-0 deficit early in the third period, the Minnesota Wild rallied to score three times, including once with just 3 seconds left, to force overtime with the Blues prospects.

The Blues prevailed, thanks to shootout goals from Philip McRae and Aaron Palushaj, but the win didn't come without a price.

Thanks to Minnesota's rally, the Wild earned a point in Wednesday's contest, which kept the Blues from a spot in the tournament's championship game. Instead, the Blues will meet the New York Rangers in a battle for third place on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Anthony Nigro scored twice for the Note, while Palushaj added three assists and a shootout goal.

Through 3 games, Palushaj leads all Traverse City prospects in scoring (3 goals, 4 assists).

Jake Allen made 31 saves and stopped all three Wild skaters in the shootout, helping the Blues preserve a win.
