Graphic Design Intern - Summer 2013
The St. Louis Blues/Scottrade Center seeks qualified candidates for the position of Graphic Design Intern for the 2013 Summer Semester. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the Digital Media/Graphic Design department. This is an unpaid internship, preferably for credit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Guest Services Intern
The St. Louis Blues/Scottrade Center/Peabody Opera House seeks qualified candidates for the position of Guest Services Intern for the upcoming semester. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in event and administrative duties within the Guest Services Department. This is an unpaid internship, preferably for college credit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Internships are offered in a variety of areas within our organization. Our internship program is designed to provide exposure and experience of day to day activities associated with the Sports and Entertainment industry. The internships offered over the course of a year vary but they all have the same core requirements.
Program Guidelines
- Internships are for college students (sophomore status and above or graduate level)
- All internships are unpaid
- Intern must provide own arrangements for living (if from out of the area)
- All interns are required to use Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis in Word and Excel
- Must possess strong communication (oral and written) skills
- Must demonstrate high degree of confidentially
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
- Must send a cover letter and resume (and portfolio if necessary) to Human Resources Department for consideration.
- Must review employee handbook and sign acknowledgement form before beginning internship
- Must adhere to the policies and procedures set forth for St. Louis Blues/Scottrade Center and Peoria Rivermen Employees
- Internships do not guarantee full-time positions with the St. Louis Blues/Scottrade Center upon completion
Graphic Design Intern - Summer 2013
The St. Louis Blues/Scottrade Center seeks qualified candidates for the position of Graphic Design Intern for the 2013 Summer Semester. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the Digital Media/Graphic Design department. This is an unpaid internship, preferably for credit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design of flyers, logos, signage, promotional materials and other projects regarding St. Louis Blues, Scottrade Center and Peabody Opera House.
- Help create, write and/or produce team marketing e-mail blasts and sales collateral.
- Archiving duties to include digital scanning of files and catalog organizing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to work daytime hours beginning in May. (approximately 2-3 days per week)
- Must be enrolled in college courses (not necessarily over the summer though).
- Preferably a junior or above.
- Graphic design majors preferred.
- Must be proficient in the following programs: Adobe Photoshop,
- Illustrator and InDesign.
- Must have working knowledge of Mac platform.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are a MUST.
- Must maintain the utmost level of professionalism and confidentiality dealing with various VIPs within the organization.
- Must be a team player.
Guest Services Intern
The St. Louis Blues/Scottrade Center/Peabody Opera House seeks qualified candidates for the position of Guest Services Intern for the upcoming semester. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in event and administrative duties within the Guest Services Department. This is an unpaid internship, preferably for college credit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in the preparation and set up of training sessions, hiring sessions and Building Security meetings.
- Assists with the Lost and Found program.
- Assists with the building tour program.
- Responsible for completing special projects as needed.
- Prepares event signage, assists with event equipment set up and preparing event information.
- Provides guests with general building information.
- Shadows managers during events to learn first hand event knowledge.
- Assists Administrative Assistant with the set up and monitoring of general admission area for concerts without floor seating and with pre-event activities.
- Assists in the scheduling of staff for early calls and tours as well as the monthly schedule.
- Assists with the creation of newsletter.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Guest Services Management.
- Currently enrolled college level student.
- A desire to gain experience in a professional sports and entertainment environment
- Excellent communication, computer, and organizational skills
- A strong work ethic
- General office skills are necessary (Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, filing, copying, etc).
- Availability to work weekends and holidays
- Must be a team player
