Blues Reveal New Look for 2014-15
The team unveiled the jerseys during the Blues Ice Breaker event at Ballpark Village
ST. LOUIS - The Blues unveiled new home and away jerseys Monday night at the Ice Breaker event at Ballpark Village.
The new jerseys will be worn beginning with the upcoming 2014-15 season and marks the first change to the team's primary look since 2007.
"We're going back to tradition. It's certainly exciting to be able to wear these," said defenseman Alex Pietrangelo. "You can tell it's going back to the traditional Blues, the history of the Blues. We love to represent that as players.
"I thought they did a great job of combining the old with the new."
The new uniforms reflect a modernized version of the classic look worn by the team from 1998-2007. The uniform leaves the Blue Note unchanged, symbolizing the club's pride in one of the greatest logos in all of sports.
Constructed from all the latest advanced materials of the Reebok Edge 2.0 system, the jersey's diagonal color striping on the sleeves has been straightened for a simplified, cleaner aesthetic. The same effect has been achieved with the return of stripes along the waistline.
"It's going to be exciting to bring a fresh look to the team," said forward T.J. Oshie. "Any jersey with a Blue Note on it my teammates and I are proud to wear, and this one is pretty sharp."
Added Hall of Famer Brett Hull: "I love the new uniform. It really gives a sense of a real classic uniform that inspires great play. When you put it on, it gives you an incredible sense of pride to wear it."
Jerseys were available for sale at Ballpark Village shortly after the unveiling. Beginning Tuesday at 10 a.m., the new jersey will be available in St. Louis exclusively at the True Blues Authentic Team Store at Scottrade Center. The store is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
