Oshie Joins American Century Championship

Blues forward T.J. Oshie will compete in the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament at Lake Tahoe in July.

Other celebrities participating in the tournament include John Elway, Stephen Curry, Charles Barkley, Ray Allen, Aaron Rodgers, Jerry Rice, Jason Kidd, Steve Young, Alex Smith and Carson Palmer.

In addition to Oshie, athletes with ties to St. Louis include former Rams Marshall Faulk, Jerome Bettis and Trent Green and former Cardinals Ozzie Smith, Vince Coleman, Mark Mulder and John Smoltz.

The Harrah’s / Harveys Lake Tahoe Race & Sports Book lists Oshie as 10-1 odds to win the tournament. Tournament favorites are Annika Sorenstam (2-1), Elway (12-1) and Curry (12-1).

The American Century Championship is celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 2014 with a special salute to America’s Armed Forces. As part of that initiative, Col. Chad Pfeifer, three-time winner of President George W. Bush’s Warrior Open and the 2011 National Amputee Tournament champion, will also join the field. Pfeifer lost his left leg in an IED explosion while on patrol in Iraq in 2007.

NBC Sports, NBC Sports Network and Golf Channel will televise the tournament.
