Tarasenko to Represent Russia in Sochi

TARASENKO INTERVIEW
Vladimir Tarasenko talks about what it means to represent Russia when the Olympics are held at home, and who he contacted first when he learned he was on the team.

ST. LOUIS – Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko will represent Russia at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

The Russian Hockey Federation announced their 25-man roster on Monday.

Tarasenko will be making his first appearance in the Olympic games. The Yaroslavl native has previously represented his country four times: in the 2009 and 2010 World Junior Championships and in the 2011 World Championships, where he served as captain of the Russian team.

This season, the 6-foot, 219-pound forward ranks sixth on the Blues among forwards with 24 points (13 goals, 11 assists) in 41 games. His 13 goals are tied for fourth with Chris Stewart.
