Lapierre Suspended for Five Games

Blues forward Maxim Lapierre has been suspended five games as a result of a hit on San Jose Sharks defenseman Dan Boyle on Oct. 15 at Scottrade Center.

The infraction occurred early in the first period. Lapierre was ejected from the game for checking from behind and Boyle was injured on the play and did not return.

Lapierre and Blues GM Doug Armstrong had an in-person hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety earlier on Friday to determine the length of the suspension.

Lapierre is eligible to return to the lineup on Nov. 1 against Florida.
