Former Blue Brendan Shanahan has been selected for induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame in November.

Shanahan Discusses Hall of Fame Selection
Blues play-by-play broadcaster Chris Kerber chatted with Brendan Shanahan about his time in St. Louis and his selection for induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Watch Shanahan's Hockey Hall of Fame induction on  Nov. 11 at 6:30 p.m. on NHL Network.

Brendan Shanahan has been selected for induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Shanahan was a fan-favorite in St. Louis, where he played in 277 games from 1991-95. He scored 156 goals and 150 assists (306 points) as a member of the Blues.

Shanahan ranks ninth on the Blues' all-time list in goals (156) and is tied for fifth in franchise history in hat tricks (6). He also ranks 10th in team history in game-winning goals (24), ninth in power-play goals (52) and is tied for sixth in short-handed goals (9). After signing as a free agent with the Blues in 1991, he had back-to-back 50 goal seasons in 1992-93 and 1993-94.

He will be officially inducted on November 11 alongside defensemen Chris Chelios and Scott Niedermayer.

"I’ve always been fortunate to have great teammates and coaches throughout my career,” Shanahan said in a press release. "At every level I have tried to learn and my key to success was having people around me that helped me improve my game."

Shanahan is one of just 18 players to join the NHL's 600-goal club. He played in 1,524 NHL games, scoring 656 goals and 698 assists (1,354 points). He won three Stanley Cups, captured an Olympic Gold Medal with Canada in 2002 and earned the King Clancy Memorial Trophy as a player displaying leadership qualities on and off the ice.

Shanahan becomes the 18th Blues player to be selected for the Hockey Hall of Fame. Recent inductees include Adam Oates (2012), Doug Gilmour (2011), Brett Hull (2009), Glenn Anderson (2008) and Al MacInnis (2007).
