Blues Promote Jan Vopat

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club has promoted Jan Vopat from Pro Scout to Head of European Amateur Scouting. He replaces Ville Siren, who has moved on to the Columbus Blue Jackets organization.

Vopat, 40, has worked as an amateur scout with the Blues since 2007 and will be responsible for overseeing all of our scouting efforts regarding European prospects.

Vopat was drafted by the Hartford Whalers in the third round (No. 57 overall) in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. He played in 126 career NHL games with the Los Angeles Kings and Nashville Predators, scoring 11 goals and 20 assists (31 points).
