Jackman Reaches Franchise Milestone

Barret Jackman played in his 616th game as a member of the Blues on Saturday night vs. Columbus, becoming No. 1 all-time among Blues defenseman in games played.

Jackman also now ranks fifth overall on the Blues' all-time games played list, trailing only Bernie Federko (927), Brian Sutter (779), Brett Hull (744) and Garry Unger (662).

"It's a huge honor. I worked real hard just to get to the NHL and even harder to stay in," Jackman said before the game. "To be up there with Barclay Plager, Bobby Plager, Al MacInnis, Chris Pronger and what they mean to the franchise is pretty cool and for me to do it with the No. 5 on my back and the Blue Note on my chest ... and Bobby Plager did it (with No. 5), is even more special."

Jackman has played his entire career with the Blues. He was drafted in the first round (17th overall) in the 1999 NHL Draft. He debuted on April 14, 2002 at Detroit and won the Calder Trophy as the NHL's Rookie of the Year in 2003.

Overall, he's played in 616 games wearing a Blue Note, recording 22 goals, 121 assists (143 points). He has a plus/minus rating of plus-38 for his career.

This season, Jackman has passed Pronger (598), Larry Patey (603), MacInnis (613), Barclay Plager (614) and Bob Plager (615).
