Halak Reaggravates Injury in Warm-ups
Ken Hitchcock told reporters after Tuesday's practice at the Ice Zone at St. Louis Outlet Mall (formerly St. Louis Mills) that Jaroslav Halak is listed as day-to-day. (Feb. 12 at 1:48 p.m.)
Jaroslav Halak re-injured his strained groin in warm-ups prior to Monday’s game vs. Los Angeles.
Halak, who was activated from injured reserve on Sunday, was expected to start in goal against the Kings. But just minutes before puck drop, Brian Elliott was announced as the starter.
“It happened so quick, it was after warm-ups,” Hitchcock said after the game. “It is what it is. He had two or three really good days of practice, and I don’t know, somewhere in the warm-up he pulled it again.
“It isn’t good for us right now, it isn’t good for the team right now. We’re just going to have to learn to battle through it.”
Hitchcock indicated that an update on Halak’s condition may be available following Tuesday’s practice.
