Blues Recall Cole from Peoria

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced the Blues have recalled defenseman Ian Cole from the Blues’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen, today.

In addition, the club assigned defenseman Jeff Woywitka to Peoria.

Cole, 23, has dressed in all three of the Blues’ games this season, posting 1 assist and 2 penalty minutes.

The Ann Arbor, Michigan native was drafted by the Blues in the first round (18th overall) of the 2007 Entry Draft.

Woywitka, 29, spent last season between the New York Rangers and their AHL affiliate, Connecticut Whale.

The 6-foot-3, 221-pound defenseman posted 6 points (1 goal, 5 assists) in 27 games with the Rangers while he logged 3 assists in 6 games with the Whale.

The Vermilion, Alberta native was signed as a free agent by the Blues on July 2, 2012.
