Blues Assign Allen to Peoria
Hitchcock says Elliott is 100 percent, will back up Halak in Game 1

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced Thursday the club has assigned goaltender Jake Allen to the Blues’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.
Brian Elliott, who was day-to-day with an upper body injury, has been declared 100 percent by Head Coach Ken Hitchcock and will backup Jaroslav Halak in Game 1 vs. San Jose.
Allen, 21, has played in 37 games for the Rivermen this season, posting a 13-19-2 record which includes one shutout, a .918 save percentage and a 2.84 goals against average. Last season, the 6’2”, 195-pound goaltender set Rivermen AHL records in wins (24), minutes played (2805), saves (1306), and shutouts (6).
Allen, a native of Fredericton, New Brunswick was originally drafted by the Blues in the second round, 34th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
