Blues defenseman Kris Russell was injured during the third period of Thursday's 3-2 shootout victory in Nashville.
The 24-year-old blueliner is experiencing concussion-like symptoms and has returned to St. Louis to undergo further evaluation by Dr. Matt Smith.
As a result of the injury, the Blues have recalled defenseman Ian Cole from Peoria.
The Blues were already missing Alex Steen and Matt D'Agostini with concussions. David Perron and Andy McDonald, both sidelined for an extended amount of time with the same injury, have returned to the lineup this season.
