McDonald Gets an Assist in Return

Andy McDonald missed 51 games while recovering from a concussion, but it didn't look like he missed a beat when he returned to the lineup in Sunday's 3-0 victory vs. San Jose.

McDonald picked up an assist on the Blues' first goal of the game.

"It's nice to be back, it's been so long," McDonald said after the game. "It's been a long road of recovery and I'm just excited to get back, especially when you win."

"He's a great guy and probably the best player on the team in terms of skill and speed," added David Perron. "We'll certainly use that. It makes our power play a lot more dynamic. Throughout his whole career, he's been one of the best players on the power play and we're certainly going to use his skill there."

Prior to Saturday's game, McDonald hadn't played since Oct. 13 at Dallas when he sustained a concussion at the end of the second period. He was cleared for contact in recent weeks and skated on a line with Patrik Berglund and Chris Stewart as recently as last Friday's practice.

In 235 career games with the Blues, McDonald has 73 goals and 117 assists (190 points).
