ST. LOUIS - Defenseman Kris Russell will return to the lineup Thursday night vs. Edmonton.
Russell, who has been nursing a right groin injury since the Dec. 27 game at Detroit, has been participating in team practices recently.
Blues Head Coach Ken Hitchcock declared him ready to go after Thursday's morning skate.
"He skates us out of trouble and he's been very good at defending against top players," Hitchcock said. "We're excited to get him back in because we just look quicker when he's in the lineup."
Added Russell, "I didn't want to push it if I wasn't feeling right, but it felt good. Obviously a little bit of tightness in it, but I'm fully confident in my skating ability now. It should be good."
Russell has played in 21 games with the Blues, recording three goals and two assists.
