“Vlady is a hard-nosed two-way player that filled many roles for us last season,” said Armstrong. “His work ethic is an excellent representation of our organization.”
Sobotka, 23, completed his fourth NHL season and first with the Blues in 2010-11 setting career highs in games played (65), points (29), goals (7), assists (22) and penalty minutes (69).
The 5’10”, 190-pound forward has appeared in 199 games during his four-year NHL career accumulating 51 points including 13 goals and 38 assists to go along with 133 penalty minutes.
The Trebic, Czech Republic native was acquired by the Blues from the Boston Bruins in exchange for the rights to David Warsofsky on June 26, 2010 and was originally drafted by Boston in the fourth round, 106th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
