Berglund to Play for Sweden at Worlds

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues forward Patrik Berglund will represent Sweden at the 2011 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Men’s Championship in Slovakia.

Berglund, 22, previously represented Sweden at both the 2008 IIHF World Junior Championship (silver) and the 2009 IIHF World Championship (bronze). The 6’4, 218-pound forward completed his third NHL season this year leading the Blues with eight power play goals and ranking second with 52 points overall including 22 goals and 30 assists in 81 games played – all of which were career highs.

The Vasteras, Sweden native was drafted by the Blues in the first round, 25th overall, of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

The 2011 IIHF World Championship will take place in Kosice and Bratislava, Slovakia, April 29-May 15. Updated stats from the tournament will be posted at www.stlouisblues.com.
