Fan-Designed T-Shirt to Appear in Stores

A fan-designed t-shirt featuring an image of Jaroslav Halak will be sold in the True Blues Authentic Team Store beginning January 8, according to Blues Enterprises CEO Mike McCarthy.

The shirt features the body of Halak making a save, while his head has been replaced by the image of the fabled loch ness monster.

After a strong playoff performance last season in Montreal, fans have adapted the "Halak-ness Monster" as one of the many nicknames for the Slovakian-born goaltender.

The t-shirt design is based off that concept and was designed by Blues fan Al Benedick and his girlfriend, Amanda Ruck.

McCarthy noticed Benedick wearing the shirt at a recent Blues home game at Scottrade Center and approached him about using the design in the team store.

The shirt will retail for $15.99 and will be available in limited quantities.
