President and CEO of The Partnership for Downtown St. Louis, Maggie Campbell, along with Chairmen, Mark Mantovani and William Kuehling, presented the award to St. Louis Blues’ CEO, Mike McCarthy.
“We are extremely proud of Scottrade Center and the front corner where our great fans congregate,” said McCarthy. “The hard work of Marty Brooks and Mark Tamar with this plaza really gives our fans a great first impression when they come to Blues games.”
The St. Louis Blues’ “Hall of Fame Plaza” celebrates the team’s storied NHL heritage by honoring the Blues’ greatest players including Bernie Federko, Al MacInnis and Brett Hull in bronze action poses at the front entrance of Scottrade Center. These life-sized statues are placed high on black granite bases, which are framed by planters holding flowers of blue and gold, symbolizing the team’s colors.
The display is further enhanced by a unique exterior illumination system for nighttime viewing, attracting sports fans and visitors day and night.
