Halak Passes Plante to Set Blues Record

Blues goaltender Jaroslav Halak earned his third shutout of the season Thursday night in a 2-0 win against the San Jose Sharks.

Halak earned the shutout in just his ninth game with the Blues, surpassing former Blues goalie Jacques Plante as the fastest goaltender in franchise history to record three shutouts.

In Halak's last four games, the goaltender has turned aside 105 of 108 shots, earning a .972 save percentage in those games.

He has held opponents scoreless in 11 of his last 12 periods played (229:06).

Prior to Friday night's games, Halak was tied for the League lead in shutouts with three. He ranks third overall in wins (7), fourth in goals-against average (1.53) and sixth in save percentage (.940).
