Blues Reach Agreement with Polak
ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced Saturday the club has re-signed defenseman Roman Polak.

“Roman played his best professional season this past year,” said Davidson. “He’s a solid young defenseman who is continuing to grow and will play a huge role with our team.”

Polak, 23, played in a career-high 69 games this past season, recording 15 points (one goal, 14 assists) and 45 penalty minutes. The 6-0, 232-pound defenseman registered a career-high 30:52 of ice time on Jan. 2 at Carolina and scored his first career NHL goal, a game-winner on Dec. 20 vs. Minnesota. Polak has played in 94 career National Hockey League games, all with the Blues, posting 16 points (one goal, 15 assists) along with 51 penalty minutes.

The Ostrava Czech Republic native was originally drafted by the Blues in the sixth round, 180th overall in the 2004 Entry Draft.
