ST. LOUIS - It may be a few years before Blues fans can watch T.J. Oshie and Philip McRae play on the same line, but when those days arrive, they could be magical.

The tandem tallied four points Saturday in the Blue vs. Gold scrimmage, lifting the Gold team to a 5-3 win in the Pro-Orientation Camp finale at St. Louis Mills.

McRae scored twice. Oshie recorded assists on both goals.

“(McRae) is a kid that you can see the size he has. He has an NHL shot already,” said Blues President John Davidson. “He has some instincts out there, great kid. It was nice to see Philip get some scoring done out there.”

“It was awesome (to be linemates with Oshie),” McRae said. “I sat next to him in the locker room all week and I just tried to watch him and learn as much as I can from him. It was a great experience getting to play with a guy like that.”

McRae, a second round draft choice in 2008, is the son of former Blues enforcer Basil McRae.

Saturday’s game concluded the four-day Pro-Orientation Camp, which featured nearly 40 prospects and local hockey players participating in on-ice and off-ice workouts. The camp allows players to showcase their skills for Blues management and fans.

As the only NHL-regular in the lineup, Oshie dazzled the fans who filled the Ice Zone at St. Louis Mills to capacity. His only goal came in the shootout.

“I didn’t play my best game," Oshie said. "I didn’t get a (regulation) goal, which I wanted pretty bad, especially in front of all these young guys out here.”

The scrimmage featured two 25-minute periods.

James Livingston, the Blues’ third round choice in 2008 (70th overall) scored the lone regulation goal for the Blue team.

Jarmo Kekalainen, the Blues’ Director of Scouting, said he was impressed with the prospects participating in this year’s camp.

“It’s exciting to see a lot of good things. I can’t remember anything that disappointed me out there,” he said. “Guys were ready, they were prepared, they came to play. They played well and there were a lot of positive things.”

Notes: Blues defenseman Erik Johnson participated in practices and workouts this week, but was held out of the game as a precaution. His knee has completely healed and he will be medically cleared in time for training camp...The scrimmage was streamed online at stlouisblues.com, with broadcasters John Kelly and Bernie Federko providing analysis throughout the game. Davidson, Kekalainen and Lars Eller were interviewed during the broadcast.
