Blues Tender Qualifying Offers to 6 Players

Crombeen, Filewich, Holt, Polak, Richmond and Wagner get offers

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced Tuesday the club has given qualifying offers to B.J. Crombeen, Jonathan Filewich, Chris Holt, Roman Polak, Danny Richmond and Steve Wagner.

Crombeen, 25, was claimed on waivers by the Blues from Dallas on Nov. 18, 2008 and made his Blues debut on Nov. 21, 2008 vs. Anaheim. He played in 81 games, registering 22 points (12 goals, 10 assists) and ranked second among NHL rookies with 148 penalty minutes. The 6-2, 212-pound forward scored the game-winning goal in two consecutive games from Dec. 6-8, becoming the first rookie in franchise history to score the game-winning goal in two consecutive team games. Crombeen also recorded his first career hat trick on Dec. 8 vs. Nashville becoming the first Blues rookie to score a hat trick since 1992.

Filewich, 24, was acquired by the Blues from Pittsburgh on Dec. 19, 2008 and played in 49 games with the Blues’ American Hockey League affiliate Peoria Rivermen, recording 15 points (five goals, 10 assists) and 12 penalty minutes. Before the trade, the 6-2, 208-pound forward played in 19 games with the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, registering four points (two goals, two assists) and six penalty minutes.

Holt, 24, made his Blues debut on Feb. 18, 2009 at Columbus. He played in 20 games with the Rivermen, posting a 10-6-2 record, a .931 save percentage and a 1.73 goals against average.

Polak, 23, played in a career-high 69 games this past season, recording 15 points (one goal, 14 assists) and 45 penalty minutes. The 6-0, 232-pound defenseman registered a career-high 30:52 of ice time on Jan. 2 at Carolina and scored his first career NHL goal, a game-winner on Dec. 20 vs. Minnesota.

Richmond, 24, was acquired by the Blues from Pittsburgh on March 4, 2009. He played in 18 games with Peoria, tallying five points (one goal, four assists) and 21 penalty minutes. Before the trade, the 6-0, 194-pound defenseman played in 55 games with the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, recording 17 points (three goals, 14 assists) and 108 penalty minutes.

Wagner, 24, skated in 22 games for the Blues last season, collecting four points (two goals, two assists) along with 18 penalty minutes. The 6-1, 191-pound defenseman has played in 46 National Hockey League games, all with St. Louis, collecting 12 points (four goals, eight assists). Last season with Peoria, Wagner has played in 47 games, notching 22 points (six goals, 16 assists) and 38 penalty minutes.
