Blues Assign Porter, Woywitka to Peoria
ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has assigned forward Chris Porter and defenseman Jeff Woywitka to the Blues’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Porter, 24, has played in five games for the Blues this season, recording two points (one goal, one assist), scoring his first career NHL goal on Oct. 18 vs. Chicago. Last season, the 6-1, 205-pound forward recorded 37 points (12 goals, 25 assists) along with 72 penalty minutes in 80 games played with Peoria.

The Toronto, Ontario native was originally Chicago’s ninth round selection, 282nd overall, in the 2003 Entry Draft and was signed by St. Louis as a free agent on Aug. 21, 2007.

Woywitka, 25, split last season with St. Louis and Peoria. He recorded a career-high eight points (two goals, six assists) in 27 games with the Blues last season and tallied 30 points (10 goals, 20 assists) in 52 games with the Rivermen.

The 6-2, 219-pound defenseman has skated in 87 career NHL games all with St. Louis, collecting 17 points (three goals, 14 assists) along with 49 penalty minutes.

The Vermilion, Alberta native was originally Philadelphia’s first round selection, 27th overall, in the 2001 Entry Draft.
