Blues Acquire Mason from Nashville

Goaltender comes to Blues in exchange for a 4th round pick in 2008

Mason played 51 games for Nashville last season, collecting a 2.90 goals against average.
ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the team has acquired goaltender Chris Mason from the Nashville Predators in exchange for a 4th round draft choice, 111th overall, in the 2008 Entry Draft.

“Acquiring Chris really solidifies our goaltending position which was one of our goals going into this weekend,” said Davidson. “We are looking forward to a big day today at the draft.”

Mason, 32, played in a career high 51 games for the Predators last season, collecting a 2.90 goals against average and a .898 save percentage.

He posted a career high 24 wins for Nashville during the 2006-07 season leading them to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Red Deer, Alberta native has skated in 135 career NHL games, recording a 58-43-12 record along with a 2.61 goals against average and a .913 save percentage.
