“Acquiring Chris really solidifies our goaltending position which was one of our goals going into this weekend,” said Davidson. “We are looking forward to a big day today at the draft.”
Mason, 32, played in a career high 51 games for the Predators last season, collecting a 2.90 goals against average and a .898 save percentage.
He posted a career high 24 wins for Nashville during the 2006-07 season leading them to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Red Deer, Alberta native has skated in 135 career NHL games, recording a 58-43-12 record along with a 2.61 goals against average and a .913 save percentage.
