The NHL trade deadline came and went on Feb. 26.
The Blues made two trades before the 2 p.m. deadline, sending defenseman Bryce Salvador to the New Jersey Devils for forward Cam Janssen. In addition, the team traded defenseman Christian Backman to the New York Rangers in exchange for a fourth round draft selection in 2008.
As a result of trading two defenseman on Tuesday, the Blues recalled defenseman Jeff Woywitka from the Peoria Rivermen.
On Monday, the eve of the deadline, the Blues reached a new contract agreement with defenseman Barret Jackman.
