Blues Recall Goaltender Marek Schwarz
ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has assigned goaltender Hannu Toivonen to the Blues’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen. In addition, the team has recalled goaltender Marek Schwarz from the Rivermen.
Toivonen, 23, has posted a 5-5-3 record for the Blues this season.
Schwarz, 21, made his NHL season debut on Dec. 9 at Colorado, stopping three of four shots in a relief effort.
He has played in 18 games with the Rivermen this season, posting a 8-6-2 record along with a .900 save percentage and a 2.37 goals against average.
The Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic native was originally the Blues first round selection, 17th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
