Perron Makes Charge in Calder Chase
After starting his NHL career at a torrid scoring pace, San Jose Sharks freshman forward Devin Setoguchi has skyrocketed up Future Considerations' Calder Chase.

Recording seven goals and eight points in his first ten games, Setoguchi trails just Jonathan Toews of the Chicago Blackhawks by one goal for the rookie scoring lead. Toews has played 10 more games than the native of Taber, AB who is skating on a line with former Art Ross and Hart trophy winner Joe Thornton.

Setoguchi, though, isn't the only rookie rocketing up FC's Calder Chase.

St. Louis Blues forward David Perron has also been scoring at a torrid pace, recording eight points in 10 games to start his NHL career.
Perron, the fifth youngest skater in Blues history when he first hit the ice at 19 years, 137 days, is second only to Toews and his Blackhawks teammate Patrick Kane in points-per-game by a rookie.

Perron is joined on the list by St. Louis teammate Steve Wagner, ranked 10th on the list. Wagner returns to the list after a three week absence.

Teammate Erik Johnson also received votes this week but did not make the list.

Kane, who leads the league in rookie scoring with 22 points, tops FC's Calder Chase for the fifth consecutive week. Kane is also among the league's top 15 scorers overall. Toews, ranked second, has been a runner-up to Kane for the last five weeks.
