Over the years, the award has honored an impressive list of distinguished honorees: August A. Busch, Jr. (1987), Joe Garagiola and Yogi Berra (1989), Stan Musial (1994), Bill DeWitt (1996) and Martin Mathews (1997).
Davidson will be honored at the Jack Buck Sports Awards Banquet on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at the Missouri Athletic Club in downtown St. Louis. Joe Buck, the top sportscaster in America, will serve as the master of ceremonies. Other distinguished sports figures being honored that evening include the St. Louis Cardinals Jason Isringhausen, who will receive the MAC Sports Personality of the Year Award and University of Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel, who will receive the Carl O. Bauer in recognition of the top amateur sports figure. The banquet will be broadcast live on KMOX Radio.
The event is open to the public. The event begins with cocktails at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. and the program at 8 p.m. Admission is $125, which includes dinner, parking and gratuity. Reservations can be made by calling 314-539-4470.
