Blues Sign Brooks, Glumac, Linglet and Stastny
ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has signed Alex Brooks, Mike Glumac, Charles Linglet and Yan Stastny.

Brooks, 30, split last season with the New Jersey Devils and the Lowell Devils of the AHL. He skated in 19 games with New Jersey collecting one assist. Brooks played in 21 games with Lowell, notching a pair of assists.

The 6-0, 195-pound defenseman spent the previous four seasons with the Albany River Rats of the AHL, amassing 26 points (three goals, 23 assists) along with 320 penalty minutes. The Madison, Wisconsin native played four seasons for the University of Wisconsin, and makes his off-season home in St. Louis.

Glumac, 27, skated in 72 games with Peoria last season, finishing fourth on the club with 57 points (27 goals, 30 assists). He was recalled to the Blues on Nov. 12 and played in three games, recording one assist. The 6-2, 200-pound forward has played in a total of 36 NHL games all with St. Louis, registering 13 points (seven goals, six assists) along with 33 penalty minutes. The Niagara Falls, Ontario native was signed by the Blues as a free agent on Oct. 6, 2003.

Linglet, 25, played in 73 games last season with the Rivermen and tied for second on the club with 60 points (31 goals, 29 assists). The 6-2, 212-pound forward captured AHL Player of the Week honors for the week ending Dec. 3 when he registered six points (four goals, two assists) in three games along with a plus-four rating. Linglet has played in four seasons of professional hockey in both the AHL and ECHL. The Montreal native played junior hockey in the QMJHL for Baie-Comeau Drakkar and posted a 52-goal season in 2001-02.

Stastny, 24, was acquired from Boston on Jan. 16, 2007 for a fifth round draft choice in 2007 (Denis Reul). At the time of the trade, the 5’11, 175-pound forward appeared in 21 games with Boston, collecting a pair of assists and skated in 11 games with Providence of the AHL, recording 12 points (three goals, nine assists). Stastny played in 39 games with Peoria, registering 28 points (11 goals, 17 assists) along with 35 penalty minutes. The Quebec City, Quebec native is the son of former Blue and Hall-of-Famer Peter Stastny and was originally Boston’s eighth round selection, 259th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
