ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has signed forward Peter Mueller to a one-year, two-way contract.
Mueller, 26, dressed in 49 games for Kloten in the Swiss professional league (NLA) last season, leading the club and ranking third league-wide with 46 points, including 24 goals and 22 assists.
Following the season, the 6-foot-2, 209-pound forward was invited to play for the United States at the 2014 World Championships, where he recorded four points (one goal, three assists) in eight tournament games.
The Bloomington, Minnesota previously appeared in five consecutive NHL seasons from 2007 to 2013 before joining Kloten. In 297 career NHL regular season games between Phoenix, Colorado and Florida, Mueller has accumulated 160 points (63 goals, 97 assists), including a career-best 54-point (22 goals, 32 assists) effort during his rookie campaign in 2007-08.
In addition to his appearance at the 2014 World Championships, Mueller has represented the United States on five other occasions, including the 2007 World Juniors, where he earned a bronze medal.
