The Blues begin the season at home on Oct. 9 vs. the New York Rangers

Sunday, 06.22.2014 / 3:00 PM St. Louis Blues

ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Blues and the National Hockey League have announced the 2014-15 regular season schedule.

The Blues will host the Eastern Conference Champion New York Rangers in the regular season opener on Thursday, Oct. 9 at Scottrade Center at 7 p.m. It will be just the second time in club history and the first since 1970 that the Blues have hosted the Rangers to open a season.

Overall, the Blues’ fan-friendly schedule features a total of 15 home games on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Season tickets for the 2014-15 season are available now, and fans can secure the best locations with a variety of benefits, including playoff ticket purchasing priority, by calling 314-622-BLUE. The on-sale date for single game tickets and partial plans will be announced at a later date.

Following the home opener, the Calgary Flames will visit St. Louis on Oct. 11 in the first of 12 Saturday games at Scottrade Center. After that two-game homestand, the Blues will embark on their first road trip of the 2014-15 campaign, a three-game West Coast swing, beginning with the Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings on Oct. 16.

The Blues will kick-off Central Division play when they host Chicago on Oct. 25. Overall, the club will play 29 games within the division, including five with Chicago, Colorado, Dallas, Nashville and Winnipeg, as well as four with Minnesota.

To fulfill the 82-game slate, the Blues will face each of the remaining Western Conference teams three times, as well as participate in a home-and-home series with each Eastern Conference team.

Other notable segments include a season-long six-game road trip from March 16-24, as well as a home stand of equal length from Jan. 8-19, which leads into the NHL All-Star break.

The calendar will culminate with three consecutive home games against Central Division rivals, including the season finale against Minnesota on Apr. 11.
