Brian Elliott moved into some good company with a 1-0 shutout of the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday.

Elliott made 33 saves for his 16th shutout as a member of the Blues, which ties Glenn Hall for second in franchise history.

Overall, it was Elliott’s 25th career shutout, which came in his 209th start. According to Elias Sports Bureau, Elliott is the fifth-quickest goalie to the NHL’s modern era to reach the 25 shutout milestone.

Only four goaltenders needed fewer starts to reach the mark: Tony Esposito (134), Terry Sawchuk (152), Roman Cechmanek (185) and Jacques Plante (187).

This season, Elliott has played in 28 games, posting a 17-5-2 record to go along with a 1.97 goals-against average, a .921 save percentage and four shutouts.

Only Jaroslav Halak (20) has more shutouts as a Blue than Elliott.
