ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Blues announced Wednesday that the 2013 Blues Youth Hockey Camp will take place July 15-19 at the Ice Zone, the Blues official practice facility at St. Louis Outlet Mall.
In addition to the week-long camp, the Blues also announced a partnership with Bar Down Hockey to provide an unprecedented hockey skill development experience to all local amateur hockey players.
Bar Down Hockey is a skill development company that is co-directed by former Blue Jamie Rivers and Professional Skill Development Coach Sean Ferrell. Each brings their own unique background to ice hockey skill development, which translates to big gains for the players they work with. The partnership will play a vital role in carrying out the Blues’ initiative, to reach the growing youth hockey community by providing top notch coaching from former Blues players and professional instructors.
“We are excited at the opportunity to partner with the St. Louis Blues and to continue to grow the game of hockey in St. Louis,” said Rivers. “The Blues have a very rich heritage in the St. Louis community, and we feel there is no better way to embrace the hockey community than to share our knowledge and expertise on the best game in the world.”
Rivers and Ferrell are currently running on-ice training sessions for members of the St. Louis Blues AAA organization. In the fall, the tandem will be coaching the St. Charles Chill, the newest team in the Central Hockey League.
