At the time of John Kreiser's writing, Allen was on a five-game win streak in which he posted a 1.80 goals-against average and a .936 save percentage.
Said Kreiser: "St. Louis' second-round pick in the 2008 NHL Draft is turning himself into the Blues' starter in goal -- no mean feat on a team that led the League in fewest goals allowed last season. Since his second call-up from Peoria of the American Hockey League earlier this month, he's gone 5-0-0 to help the Blues shake off their February slump."
Allen is 8-1-0, which is on pace with Brian Elliott, who set a record last season for the best start to a season by any Blues goaltender (9-1-0 in his first 10 games).
Stewart has scored five goals in his last three games, two of which were game-winners. For the month of March, Stewart has 15 points (seven goals, eight assists).
"After a disappointing season in 2011-12, Stewart has improved his conditioning and the results are showing," Kreiser wrote for NHL.com. "He had five goals and seven points in three games for St. Louis last week, moving him into the team lead with 14 goals and 28 points in 28 games -- only one goal and two points less than he had all last season."
Stewart was also named the NHL's No. 1 Star of the Week for the period ending March 17.
Allen and Stewart join Pittsburgh's Marc-Andre Fleury, Columbus' Sergei Bobrovsky, Calgary's Curtis Glencross and Minnesota's Ryan Suter on the Hot List.
