Former NHL goaltender, Frank Pietrangelo (Pittsburgh and Hartford), is his dad’s second cousin.
Was selected third overall by the Mississauga Ice Dogs in the 2006 OHL Priority Draft – his first hockey team was the Nobleking Knights and he played for the Toronto Junior Canadiens for three years before being drafted into the OHL.
His nickname is “Petro” and he wears number 10 because he enjoyed watching Pavel Bure growing up.
His game time rituals include drinking “a bottle filled with half Gatorade and half water during intermission and chewing gum during warm-up”.
If he wasn’t playing hockey he would be a fisherman and the one thing he couldn’t live without is his cell phone.
