The Rivermen completed their 10th three-games-in-three-days series this season, capturing four of six possible points. Peoria is now 26-21-2-1 with 55 points, good for third in the Midwest Division and tied for seventh in the Western Conference.
Feb. 10 – L 3-2 vs. Lake Erie | HIGHLIGHTS
Goals from Anthony Nigro and T.J. Hensick gave Peoria a 2-0 lead early in the second period before Lake Erie countered with three unanswered in a 3-2 win on Friday night at Carver Arena. Ben Bishop stopped 20 of 23 shots on goal while former Rivermen, and current Monsters goaltender, Gerald Coleman stopped 32 of 34. Peoria went 1-for-3 on the power play and Lake Erie finished 2-for-5. Jonathan Cheechoo was awarded the game’s second star after he tallied an assist on both Rivermen goals.
Feb. 11 – W 5-2 vs. Charlotte | HIGHLIGHTS
Peoria set a season high with 47 shots on goal and built themselves a 5-0 lead on their way to a 5-2 win over the Charlotte Checkers Saturday night at Carver Arena. 13 different players combined for 16 points in the win for the Rivermen in Charlotte’s first ever visit to Peoria. Derek Nesbitt, Anthony Nigro, Cade Fairchild, Tyler Shattock, and T.J. Hensick each scored for Peoria while Ben Bishop stopped 22 of 24 shots on goal. Rookie forward Chris Bruton registered his first point for the Rivermen when he assisted Nigro’s goal. Peoria went 1-for-8 on the power play while Charlotte finished scoreless on two chances.

The Rivermen sent just 15 shots on goal, including a one-shot first period, yet still defeated the Milwaukee Admirals 4-2 on Sunday evening at the Bradley Center. Milwaukee took the lead in both the first and second period before Brett Sterling tied the game and went on to register the game-winning goal just 3:17 later. Ben Bishop was awarded the game’s first star after he stopped 26 of 28 shots on goal in his league-leading 22nd win. Peoria finished 2-for-5 on the man advantage and held Milwaukee scoreless on two opportunities. The win marked the fifth consecutive for the Rivermen over the Admirals this season.

Rivermen Report
- For the second time this season, Ben Bishop started three games in three days. His 22 wins and six shutouts lead all AHL goaltenders this year.
- Center T.J. Hensick continues to lead the Western Conference in both points and assists with 62 and 44, respectively. His nearest competition is San Antonio’s Jon Matusomoto who currently trails Hensick by 13 points.
- Rookie defenseman Cade Fairchild’s plus-28 rating remains the best in the AHL.
- Danny Syvret is now tied for fourth among defenseman in points this season with 31. His 27 assists rank third in the AHL.
- The Rivermen power play improved to 21.4%, second best in the AHL. The penalty kill is tied for 10th best at 83.3%.
- With Sunday’s win, Peoria improved to 8-2-0 in the third game of a three-games-in-three-days series this season.
