The Rivermen returned to the road last weekend for two games in Texas, both of which resulted in four goal losses. Peoria is 20-19-2-1 this season and their 43 points rank fourth in the Midwest Division and tied for 10th in the Western Conference.
Jan. 20 – L 6-2 at Texas
Although Cade Faichild and Jonathan Cheechoo scored within 34 seconds to overcome an initial two-goal deficit, the Stars went on to score four goals in the last 30 minutes of regulation and won 6-2. Peoria finished scoreless on four man advantages while Texas went 2-for-5. Ben Bishop stopped 29 of 35 shots on goal in the loss and Andrew Raycroft saved 21 of 23.
Jan. 21 – L 5-1 at San Antonio
Evgeny Grachev scored his first goal for the Rivermen just 2:34 into the first period but San Antonio responded with five of their own en route to a 5-1 win. Former Rivermen defenseman Tyson Strachan netted the game winner on his third goal this season for the Rampage. Peoria went 1-for-4 on the power play while San Antonio finished 1-for-2. Bishop stopped 25 of 29 shots he faced.

Rivermen Report
- Rivermen goaltender Ben Bishop was a recent addition to the AHL All-Star Game following an injury to Lake Erie netminder Cedrick Desjardins. This is the second straight season in which the Rivermen have had a goalie represent them after Jake Allen started the 2011 classic in Hershey, Pa.
- Center T.J. Hensick’s 48 points (14g, 34a) still rank first in the Western Conference. Hensick has registered at least one point in 33 of his 42 games this season.
- Phil McRae (four games) and Stefan Della Rovere (two games) are both expected to return to the lineup on Tuesday morning after suffering upper-body injuries.
- The Rivermen power play ranks fourth in the AHL at 21.4%. The penalty kill is tied for ninth at 83.2%.
