Report for the Week Ending April 7
The Rivermen dropped both of their contests last week against the division-rival Rockford IceHogs.
Apr. 6 – 5-4 L vs. Rockford
Peoria had a 4-2 lead midway through the second period, but allowed three unanswered goals in a 5-4 loss to the Rockford IceHogs on Saturday night at Carver Arena. Derek Nesbitt, Yannick Veilleux, Brett Sonne and Anthony Nigro all scored goals for the Rivermen, while Rostislav Olesz, Brandon Pirri, and Martin St. Pierre each had three-point nights. Mike McKenna faced 37 shots and stopped 32 of them. Rockford outshot Peoria 37-27.
Apr. 7 – 4-1 L vs. Rockford
Yannick Veilleux scored his second goal in as many games, but that was all the offense Peoria generated in a 4-1 loss to Rockford on Sunday night. Martin St. Pierre scored the game-winning goal for the IceHogs 61 seconds into the third period. Mike McKenna stopped 27 of 30 while Carter Hutton made 20 saves. The Rivermen went 0-for-6 on the power play.

- Evgeny Grachev snapped an 11-game pointless streak with an assist in Saturday’s 5-4 loss to Rockford.
