Manny Legace received an invitation to the first All-Star game of his career on Jan. 10 and was more than happy to accept. Legace has put together a great season for the Blues, helping keep the team in the hunt for their first playoff berth since the 2003-04 season. "You're with the greatest players in the world on a great stage," Legace said recently about attending his first NHL All-Star Game. ![]() After being selected first overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, being selected into the NHL YoungStars Game shouldn't come as much of a surprise for Erik Johnson, but it did. "You just kind of figure, hey, maybe I'll get a shot at it," Johnson said. "It's a nice honor to have, and it'll be a good learning experience for the future." ![]() While Erik Johnson was being selected No. 1 in 2006, all 30 teams took a pass on Perron. Seven rounds later, Perron still was left unchosen. Teams took note after a season in the Quebec Junior League, where Perron potted 39 goals and 44 assists in 70 games. His leadership and production helped his team to the league championship. "Nobody would even think I'd be close to making the (Blues)," Perron said about the start of the season. "In my mind, I wanted to go to the (YoungStars) game.
